Manhattan Grant Writers has been supporting City Lyric Opera since 2021. CLO is a small nonprofit opera company based in Brooklyn, NY, with programming throughout New York City and Nassau County. 

 

Working with CLO, we have primarily provided full-service development and fundraising services, including managing their entire grant and development calendar, coordinating applications, and ensuring proper grant reporting and project management. When we started working with CLO, we began developing their entire development plan, working with existing connections and creating plans for new donor relations to foster additional growth and success. Despite the pandemic, they doubled their operating budget after hiring a grant writer after just six months. This past year, we tripled their operating budget, attracting new funders and receiving increased award amounts from previous funders, ensuring sustainability.

 

Our long-term relationship with CLO has allowed us to work with them as the organization has grown and programming has shifted. We’ve successfully ensured their funding is secure while making internal changes and continuing to support local NYC artists and audiences.
